‘Taste of Tuscany’ Wine Pairing Event

We are thrilled to present an exciting dining experience with Gavioli Winery of Tuscany, pairing exclusive artisan wines with a special seasonal menu created by Head Chef/Owner Antonio Cavaliere.
A second date has now been added to the exclusive ‘Taste of Tuscany’ wine pairing evening with Marco Gavioli ower of Cantina Gavioli, Tuscany. The event was originally scheduled for one evening, Tuesday 22nd November but has completely sold out. Due to demand, a second date has been added, Wednesday 23rd November.
This special wine pairing event is being held to celebrate a ‘Taste of Tuscany’. The evening promises a delicious seven course tasting menu featuring Tuscan inspired dishes paired with wines of the region.
We have built fantastic relationships with our Italian wine suppliers over the past 27 years. Cantina Gavioli is one of the most innovative wineries in Italy and we are the only restaurant in Ireland to offer their award-winning range.
The vineyard is uniquely situated in the heart of Tuscany. The lower floors of the cellar is said to have been adapted from an Etruscan tomb in the 6th century, which was carved in tufa rock. The sub-terrain location makes it the perfect area to store and create great tasting wines.
Marco Gavioli owner of Cantina Gavioli will be on hand for the ‘Taste of Tuscany’ evening to introduce his award-winning wines which are renowned for using classic Tuscan vintner’s traditions along with cutting edge wine-making techniques to make exceptional, high quality wines, exclusively available at Ristorante Rinuccini, Kilkenny.
Known for its Montepulciano, some of the best examples of the grape are produced at Gavioli, aged for over 24 months in special oak barrels. At the 44 acre vineyard the quality of the soil along with its topography and the area’s microclimate produce the highest – quality Sangiovese wines, one of our most successful finds from Tuscany for our cellar here in Kilkenny.
Having just won Ireland’s European Restaurant at the Keeling’s Gold Medal Awards, we are excited to present a Taste of Tuscany and to deliver authentic Italian flavours and delicious accompanying wines.
