Sergavio Bianco I.G.T.
This beautifully made Chardonnay, a jewel of its variety, is produced in this unique vineyard in the heart of Tuscany Aged for seven months in new oak, with its aromas of tropical fruit, vanilla and a broad well-defined palate, alternating creamy white chocolate with fresher citrus and banana-like sensations.
Vernaccia di San Gimignano D.O.C.G.
The nose is very clean and offers fruity, flowery sensations with faint vegetal nuances and the palate is well supported by acidity, with its soft, lipsmacking palate and ends in a leisurely finish.
Vermentino D.O.C. Tenuta Guado al Tasso
The 2014 vintage has demonstrated, once again that Bolgheri can make excellent wine in hot vintages. The morphology of the territory and the nearby presence of the sea mitigate torrid summer temperatures in well-exposed vineyards and help to avoid the vine stress which compromises balance and proper ripening. A luminous straw yellow in color, the wine’s aromas are riper and more mature than usual with notes of citrus fruit and herbs, which, in this vintage, mingle with fruity sensations which recall yellow peaches and apricots. The flavors are savory, persistent, fresh, and with a pleasurable fruitiness on the finish and aftertaste.
Cantine Corte Normanna
Greco di Sannio D.O.C.
This 2012 Grecco from the wonderful family run Corte Normanna has a bright straw yellow hue, introducing intense tropical fruits It has beautiful pure aromas of well ripe peach and damson and its palate is fresh, deep and supple but not simplistic. The nicely fat palate has body, balanced acidity, fruit, power and a long finish.
Sanio Fiano D.O.C.
This impressive Fiano, has a bright straw colour with its Chablis aromas and Apennine fullness. The nose opens on clean notes of minerals, rain-washed stone and ash and goes on to reveal aromas of thyme, aniseed and iodine. The fine, balanced palate changes gear midway thanks to perfect integration of backbone and acidity, the very long finish suggesting iodine and mint.
This is a really special Falanghina, with a deep straw colour and a nose that is fascinating, with it’s peach, apricot, butter and honey notes melting elegantly into beautiful vanilla tones. The palate is firm, fleshy, richly textured and mouth filling, yet elegant and very long.
Vementino Di Gallura Superiore D.O.C.G.
Vermentino is the dry, crisp, and herbal white wine from Sardegna. The basil and pine nut aromas, with a nose of ripe fruit with touches of almond blossom, and a pleasantly savoury palate. It is light and crisp with a tinge of color, sharing many characteristics with the Malvasia grape to which some experts believe Vermentino is related.
Cantina San Rustico
Bianco di Custoza D.O.C.
From the first to the last drop, Bianco di Custoza is an enjoyable surprise. Obtained from a heterogeneous blend of grapes with aromatic scents and stainless steel fermentation, it has reached a top-quality level thanks to its fresh and modern characteristics.
Pecorino is the rarely seen ancestor of the white Pinot varietals, but certainly doesn’t taste like a Pinot Grigio. Fruity yes, but richer and bolder. Good structure and an evolving presence. We were most impressed by the nose that releases aromas of considerable elegance and delicacy, as well as by its self-confident, spacious palate.
