of blackberry, cocoa and pencil lead. The palate is soft, long and structured
with unobtrusive tannin.

Rojano i.g.t 2006
Tudernum
A blend of Sangiovese, merlot and Sagrantino, matured for 12 months in
new oak to give a lovely soft vanilla tone that enhances the damson and
red berry fruit.  The colour is ruby-garnet and the nose is intriguing, with
spiciness and pencil lead-like mineral scents.

Sagrantino di Montefalco d.o.c.g.2005/6
Tudernum
The heat of the year, far from compromising it’s excellently constructed profile,
has actually given it something in terms of flesh and underlying substance.  Thus
the red and black berry fruits are accompanied by grace notes of cumin spices
and the velvetiness of the palate broadens into dept..

Montefalco Rosso d.o.c. 2007
Tudernum
The colour is an impenetrable dark red. On the nose there are aromas of cherries,
plums, chocolate and a heady whiff of acetone. In the mouth the powerful tannins
give the wine a solid feel, the finish is beautifully long with the acidity fighting to
balance those mouth-drying tannins.

Vitiano 2003
Falesco
This lovely fresh tasting wine has a nose dominated by fragrant cherry fruit, graced
with spices and roses.  The palate is riper, the fruit jammier and the surprising
dept is rendered complex by the swagger of the tannins.  This makes way for
metallic, mineral full notes in the finish.

for two years in new oak, with an intense deep colour, ripe and inspiring.

The 2004 Aglianico is a good deep ruby colour.  There are gentle aromas of ripe cherry
and plum, with floral nuances, and the palate is clear cut, fleshy and dense
with smoky and spicy notes.

Tre Pietre d.o.c. 2002
Corte Normanna
Taking pride of place on our list is this excellent newcomer, Tre Pietre.
It presents garnet ruby, with a dense, chewy bouquet of pencil lead,
cherry and cocoa and a linear palate.

Patrimo Irpinia Rosso i.g.t. 2004
Feudi di San Gregorio
The ’04 Patrimo is a most challenging wine. It offers a very ripe, fleshy nose
of jam and brandied fruit, but the clenched vigorous palate sweeps away
any doubts about its soundness and aging potential. The nose is inscrutable,
but the weight and power displayed on the palate doesn’t require much interpretation.

Veneto
Amarone Vigneti del Gaso d.o.c 2003
San Rustico
Verona’s most famous red wine, Amarone, is created through drying grapes
on wooden racks for several months before fermentation.  This process,

of this style of wine.

Barolo Cannubi d.o.c.g
Brezza
2001
2003
The Brezza Barolos are almost arrogantly successful. Its concentrated colour

wonderfully deep aromas.  The powerful extracts and tannins just add to the pleasure
of the palate, at the time, allowing scope for a perfect correspondence to the nose
and a mouth filling density.
